Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused

This week the challenge was difficult for me in that I delete my photos when I see that they are out of focus. Normally I take a couple of shots of a scenario; and then keep the best. I did find a picture, though, that I took at my children’s school Winter concert last year. I decided to keep it because:

  1. It was the only shot I had taken of the programme
  2. The blurred aspect of the photo softened the subject a bit – a little in keeping with the theme of the evening.

Do you keep the out of focus pictures that you have taken?

I would not htink you have many unfocused pictures Sonel – you take some beautiful pictures.

      • Sonel says:

hehehe, I am very glad you think so Colline but I can promise you out of every 10 pics I take, I have at most 5 or 6 that’s unfocused most of the time, but thanks for the lovely compliment. You are way too kind. :)
        *big hugs*

Keep ‘em? I’ve got folders full of ‘em!

Nice response to the challenge, Colline.

  3. I almost never keep those photos, unless there is another reason to do so, like your reason.

This picture has a fantasy-like quality that I like very much!
I usually have many pictures that are out of focus or otherwise blurred, but I keep them. Sometimes it is because, like yours, it is the only photo I have of a particular subject. But also, I occasionally get some “artistic” effects using blurred photos.

    Hi,
A great photo for the theme.
Like you I usually delete mine out, with your photo it was a very good idea to keep it as a memory of the event.

I find when the lighting is not bright, many of my photos have a hazy look to them. I guess I should really step away from the automatic settings on my camera

  6. Madhu says:

Nice shot! In my case at least eight out of ten are unfocused :-)

  7. Looks like the pic was set up to be out of focus. Beautiful. Nawww, I don’t keep my out of focus pics. They don’t look beautiful like yours!

  8. Jo Bryant says:

Yep I keep them…you never know what they may become one day…they are the one I use to play around with photo editing software

    Still something to remind you!

I like it and aren’t you glad you kept this one? :-)

  12. George Weaver says:

If I got rid of the fuzzies and the duplicates, I’d have half the photos gone. Ha ha. I keep some of Boy that are out of focus because they are all I have. They bother me, but I hang on to them! I am glad to hear all these folks say they get fuzzy photos too. I thought I was the only one! Thanks for bringing up this subject! :-)

Looking at the photos people put up on blogs, I thought that unfocused photos were not a part of their repertoire. As you say, at least now I know that I am not the only one who makes these mistakes :)

  14. Leanne Cole says:

That is an interesting photo. Looks like a double exposure. Great interpretation of the theme.

  15. Just like you, I usually delete the blurry ones and keep the best, more that my computer’s memory is getting full. And yes, the challenge was a bit hard for me. Love your version. Reminds me of the beautiful memories of Christmas. Thanks.

  16. Arindam says:

Great shot! Perfect to go with the theme.
