The days are shortening and this morning there was a slight chill in the air. Summer days are almost over and our daily routines for the rest of the year have begun. We say goodbye to late morning starts, lazy days spent reading, and late dinner hours. We feel rested and sated with free time and “doing a lot of nothing”.
This week school has begun and, with it, the beginning of the new academic year. Alarm clocks ring to wake us up. Some trudge to school, others walk eagerly, and others face their fear of entering into a classroom with a group of strangers. By now first day jitters have been calmed and many are settling into the new school year.
I, too, have begun the new school year in a new classroom, a different school, with an unknown group of children. My spare time will now be spent planning lessons, preparing activities, and catching up on household chores. One thing I will not be able to spend much time on is blogging. Until I have reached the stage where I do not need to work after school hours, I know I will not be able to post everyday or even visit many blogs. I shall miss being able to communicate with many of my readers on a daily basis; but know that I shall post when I can and as often as I can.
Until the next blog post
