Paper Cutting Art

At the China Now! festival that took place at the Harbourfront, my family and I went to look at the art exhibition. The hall was strung with paper cutting art. The designs were intricate and what one would expect of a Chinese designer.

My children and I were intrigued by the banners and enjoyed looking at the intricate designs.

Some of the designs were very detailed and suggested a story.

Our favourites ones, though, were those depicting nature.

Which are your preferred art scenes to look at?

  1. I like them with characters in but these are all so beautiful, Colline. 🙂
Didn’t Paula disqualify you from her B & W? She can be very strict 🙂 🙂 But very lovable too.

  2. Hello Colline, I have to say I have never seen such intricate banners. Chinese art is fascinating. Thank you very much for linking it to B&W Sunday. It is almost monochrome so I am happy with your entry 🙂 (Don’t listen to Jo 😉 )

  3. Beautiful paper art. I think the real art goes from parents to children. My student is preparing her eng speech for her exams. She is going to demonstrate how to make a love star from a drinking straw. This is very lovely and delicate! The amount of starts placed in a glass bottle as a gift shows how much the person is loved.

  4. Wow! Not that is some stunning art for sure Colline! So much detail and I can only imagine how long it took them. Gorgeous and great photo’s hon. Thanks for sharing. 😀

Any art that has to do with nature and animals always pulls me in. 😀

      1. Strangely enough, I love storms. Seeing them in paintings… not having them. Then I worry too much about the Vervets and birds. LOL!
