Yesterday my cousin was kind enough to take me with him on his monthly trip to Costco. As always, I found some good deals for my family. And the best deal was finding some prawns – prawns which my husband cooked for the family.

The dish was absolutely delicious: the vegetables a perfect compliment to the marinated shellfish. I always appreciate it when my husband generously takes on the task of feeding the family – it gives me a break and I get to taste cooking different from my own.
How do you prepare prawns?

Shrimp fried rice is my favorite, but I load it up with carrots, peas and broccoli…the sauce is everything! Of course, deep fried shrimp are addicting, so I never make them!

I love prawns but I have never tried to cook them.

My husband marinates them in garlic and then fries them in oil. In South Africa he used to do this outside on a high heat. Delicious – especially is you can get the prawns from Mozambique.

Scampi in butter and garlic or Shrimp and grits (only if teh shrimp are fresh south carolina shrimp.

A nice treat being cooked for. I’m not too keen on prawns but sometimes use frozen ones in a curry. 🙂 🙂
