Music Monday: A bit of Tiffany

Last week I was looking for a relaxing film to watch on Netflix when I came across a new rom-com of theirs: Love, Guaranteed. I clicked on the thumbnail and decided to watch it based on the very short blurb.

The film was what you would expect of the typical rom-com: a predictable love story that leaves you with a smile on your face. It was just the type of film to watch after a tiring day – and one, as well, that I could stop midway and watch over two days.

During the film, snippets of I Think we’re Alone Now by Tiffany were played.

I used to love this song when I was a teenager – I would play it over, and over, and over. Hearing the song took me back – and of course I had to listen to the full version later on on the week! 🙂

What song in a film has taken you back to the past?

Summer Songs

When I was at school we always began our summer holidays singing the Cliff Richard song “Summer Holiday”. (Yes, my parents were fans 🙂  )

We would then sing the songs that were current at that time. These were some of the songs I listened to. Do you remember any of them?

“On the Beach” by Chris Rea. This I would listen to when I was in the mood for something soothing.

“I can’t Dance” by Genesis. I loved listening to Phil Collins and his band. This was just one among many favourites.

“Doctor Jones” by Aqua. The perfect song to dance to. I loved its upbeat rhythm

“Walk like an Egyptian” by The Bangles. Our summer holidays were during December and we always danced to this song at family parties. Like an Egyptian!

“Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson. Every teenager was listening to Michael Jackson and I was no exception.

“Forever Young” by Alphaville. Another group I used to listen to over and over. Even my mom got to know the words!

These were amongst the songs of my adolescence.

Share in the comments section some of the songs from your teenage years.
