To me “urban” signifies a group of tall buildings huddled together. Within these buildings people work, live and play. Seeing the city from the outside, though, can be impressive – especially when you approach it from the water. After a visit to the Toronto Island, we see the unique skyline of the city of Toronto.
From this distance we can see the places that we go to often over the weekends: the Harbourfront and the district we often visit.
A city is always expanding, and Toronto is no different as the cranes in the distance testify. What a beautiful view from the residents must have from their shoreline apartments.

There are so many parts to the city – I have shown you just one. I do admit that I enjoyed seeing her from this view. She looks so stately. Once you walk in her streets, you experience her vibrancy.

We spent a week in Toronto this summer and there were so many hi-rise appartment buildings. Beautiful skyline…we had a great time.

The only problem with so many hi-rise buildings is that you yearn at times for green grass and open spaces. Knowing that, I made sure that we live near a park and some green space.

Wow, what an impressive city! The tower is mind-boggling. It looks like the one in Johannesburg but on ultra-zoom!

The tower is the CN Tower and stands at 553.33 metres (1,815.4 ft) tall. It was the tallest building for 34 years until a taller one was built in Dubai and later on in Japan. It is still the tallest free-standing building in the Western hemisphere. It’s height beats the Brixton tower in Hillbrow by far.
